I understand

Thanks to the initiative of 16 local winegrowers, who wanted to add value to the local grape as well as to the wines they produce, in 1983 Cantina Apulia came into being. The very first vintage dates back to 1986. The cultivated vines are Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot, Chardonnay, Trebbiano and Moscato, but the real queen of the territory is the autochthonous troy grape, in Italian "uva di troia", connected to the mythical past of the area around the Mediterranean. Cantina Apulia is now one of the larger cooperatives in Apulia, with over 250 members and 850 hectares of vineyards.
