Puglia is a wine-producing region with very ancient traditions. Grape cultivation dates back to Greek colonisation of VIII century b.c. Stornara is a small agricultural centre in "Daunia", along the Via Traiana, 27Km. South-East of Foggia. According to Diomede the grape cultivation was introduced here by the mythological King Dauno. The name Daunia, relating both to the geographical area and local wine, comes from there. Vineyards cover the 26% out of the whole area.
